define friend, is it someone you can see, do things with, know you can trust, won't shut you out if bored with you, won't do mean things if you dissagree with them, you know for sure who they are, you would know them if you saw them in the street....

or someone you talk to online, that you don't know is being honest with you, is maybe not who they say they are, will just take you off their list when they want so you can't talk to them, will send you a virus or report you if you make them mad, cannot truly help you, when you need a friend, you cannot hug, shake hands with, is maybe not even a real person, could be a bot...

there are many things a real life friend can do that a internet personality can't. I would rather have 1 real human friend, and 1000 internet "friends"..so no, I do not

Of the people who are frequently on the internet, yes. However, there are still a lot of people who don't use the internet as a social mechanism - or at all - and have more real-life friends.

umm, not really. The people I chat to online are more my acqaintances than friends because realistically, they might not even be who I think they are. Real life, I have a few really close friends that I know I could rely on for anything, the rest are just people I know.

the answer to this question depends on what is your definition of friends. if by a friend you mean somebody whom you can talk about anything without thinking what he or she will think about you. then i think no. people have more such friends in real life than on the net.

lol. They probably won't admit it to you, but I think that is probably true of internet users. I won't knock it though, it did help me find some good REAL life friends when I first went away to college.

Quality friends are tangible. you can't build a good relationship over the internet.

especially when all you need is a hug
