I got a tattoo to mark it as a memorial of sorts... when your heart dies emotionally, or you're spiritually wounded, you have to let that part of you go... it makes way for something new. If you can't let that part go... it will re-incarnate its self and it will die again. It can turn into a cycle. Don't let it. Just let it go... when you do, something new will grow to take its place. You try to hold on to avoid the temporary emptiness... but don't. If you do... it will re-incarnate and hurt you again. Just let it go. When something ends... something new begins. Let it go and make room for something new to grow. Then you evolve and change. Seal yourself off in a cocoon for a while if you have to, but when the metamorphisis is complete... you'll be a moth or a butterfly... or whatever. both beautiful in my opinion.

Emotionally from a breakup? It feels like death - you actually go through a morning period, even if it was YOUR choice.
Heart Dies: If it's due to being hurt so many times, Or perhaps childhood distrusts - It may mean you've just shut it down for awhile, that the WALLS are VERY high to protect yourself!
You may develop a false hardness, but inside you are really soft.
It's our protection (mine at least)!

It never dies, it is only asleep, healing waiting for a chance to shine again. Wait in protectiveness, hope and reflection and as sure as the flower reopens after the night your heart will bloom again with emotion. I promise you!

You CRY. You SHOUT. Let your emotions carry you… if you don’t let yourself carry out these negative feelings it will stay in for a longer time. Then TALK. Talk to someone you trust for advice. PRAY to God for strength .ACCEPT. Everything happens for a reason. LET GO.MOVE ON.LIVE.
The heart is only a part of a much bigger and important entity…YOU!

You have to grief over it and move on in life. Grieving involves crying, thinking about the past, what it could have been. But eventually one has to start to forget this past, have less reminders about it, and start afresh again. It is not as dramatic as it seems...
Do take care of yourself and love yourself and perhaps stop blaming it on anyone, including yourself. Good luck :)

I've been through this, and so far as I know, what feels like death, is not death at all. Once you have finished mourning and have dealt with what has happened to you, you will be ready to start over. Best of luck!
