I don't know about overall in countries, but the most polluted cities are those that quickly adopted cars and industrialization without long periods of social and educational development that promote environmental issue.

By that criteria, the most polluted cities in the world include:
Seoul, Korea
Bangkok, Thailand
Delhi and Bombay, India
Jakarta, Indonesia
Mexico City, Mexico

Most cities are polluted, all over the world. But the worst forms of pollution and the highest levels are, I believe, in Russia and the other states of the former Soviet Union.

I really don't know but karmically India is very clean in my opinion, much of the states are also clean, don't know about Europe or China.

I would guess the greatest pollution we share is the ocean. I think all places have their refuges of garbage, we are all human.

The difference is that many of us don't dump our waste in other people's countries. No need to cite examples. Ask Greenpeace if you want to know.
