My son is called Reece. Does everyone think this is modern enough or is it too old fashioned?

I understand that US participants may immediately think Reese Witherspoon or Reese's chocs/sweets but in the UK we don't have that brand and it is definately more of a boy's name - although still cute for a girl spelled Reese! Spelled Reece it is the English spelling for the Welsh version Rhys.

Reece is a cool, modern 21st Century name. But will it be so cool when he's 75?!

It's similar to names like Darren or Russell - great for young, hip dudes - but for some reason there are very few older guys with these kind of names.

One solution many new parents are coming up with these days is to give two names to their children - one for the moment and allows for current trends (Kyle, Brendon, Blythe etc) and another traditional, solid, un-controvertial name (James, David, Richard etc.) and let the child select which he/she wants to use as they get older.

Reece is not an old fashioned name. Michael or Peter is old fashioned. Reece is quite a modern name. It's nice.

reece is a nice name. All my five kids have trad names. Mod names come and go when your child starts school with an unusual name other children can be really cruel and use the name against them. My daughter was going to be Callum if she was a boy, her name is Chloe.

I love this name! I have 3 sons and the last two came very close to being named Rhys. (unfortunatley, we let family members influence our decision) We named them Tristan and Maxwell but I wish we would have named one of them Rhys. It's modern but not trendy. Just a great name!
