There have been occassions where people give a vewrdict in order to go home to thier families, and avoid the long drawn out process of discussing what should be done?

Would you be so kind as to cite some instances of what you assert? Studies done by Harry Kalven at the U of Chicago Law School 36 or so years ago showed that in most cases the juries came up with the same decision the judge would have made. You have a new study, or are you just making this up?
