This is unfortunate decision by Indian Cricket Team Management, however, positive part we are not playing with Sachin, Ganguly, Pathan, Agarkar and current Indian team is controlling the match and we may win. We have more option now in the indian team, that is good for indian cricket.

Its a decision taken by Coach and skipper Rahul since he is really low on confidence....After poor run through out the odi series and especially after the thrasing he got in the 2 day match prior to the test match,he has been left out..Since his all round ability will be missed v had to play extra batsman kaif and hence there is no place for the 5th bowler.

i feel its to harsh on the part of the selectors to have pathan out of the test match just because of one bad odi series. vrv singh has not shown any temperament in the match. and this pitch helped swing bowlers a lot and i feel pathan would have been very effective

His bad form and lack of confidence
But its not tht he's not goin to play in the entire test series..its jus the 1st match tht he was removed from..hopefully he will be added in the other matches

He is not played well in one day series.
