work out which hunt country your are in (try horse & hound), then contact your local hunt & ask for a fixtures list. Horse & Hound publish meet dates on a weekly basis. We are out of season at the moment although mid-August onwards will be the start of what used to be called cubbing (before Blair had his way). If you find out which your local Pony Club is, the hunt that is in your area is usally called by the same name. I have the Cotswold Hunt, North Cotswold Hunt, Cotswold Vale Farmers Hunt, Ledbury & the Berkely in my area. You will probably find that there are three or four different hunts which meet regularly within your surrounding area. Hope this helps.

Wow... lots of uninformed answers on here.
First, what type of hunt are you looking for and in what area? You might want to contact one of the local horse clubs for more information. Also, if you plan on traveling with your horse, contact a vet in the area you plan to travel to see what additional vaccinations you may need for your horse. There can be a huge difference. Also, some areas (several anymore) only allowed certified hay so you may want to have that knowledge ahead of time as well as where you can legally stop with your horse.
Last, be aware of other critters that frequent the area in which you decide to hunt. I live in Wyoming and there are some areas we don't like to take the horses due to bear and other predators.
Good luck and enjoy whatever type of hunt you choose! I've been on photography hunts which are every bit as much fun as actual shoots.

Please go drag hunting instead of fox hunting. I do drag-hunting, it's so much fun and you don't kill any foxes. Find out about a local hunt club, by word of mouth possibly. Talk to your friends who do horse-riding and ask them if they hunt and can give you some info. Have fun!

If you live in England they have fox hunts on horseback. I've seen one in Massachusettes at a country club. I think it was Hamilton Mass. They all wore the fox hunting outfits. I don't think they actually killed a fox. It was for the fun of the hunt not results.

Why do you want to go hunting? Can't you just get on your horse and go for a gallop across the fields?

Instead of hunting, you could participate in a steeple chase. Thats fun, and no animals have to die.
