Because the whole premise of the book is making people question Christianity. Some are thinking the book is based on factual events when it is not.

Because it is not true, while the first page of Da Vinci Code says everything in the novel is true. If we look at history we can find MANY evidences that The Da Vinci Code is not true. Reality and The Da Vinci Code contradict each other like science and the Holy Bible. Try going to a Church seminar about The Da Vinci Code, I did, I learned a lot, I learned the truth.

Because the book is a work of fiction that uses bogus facts to tell the story. Many people of closed minds are convinced that this work of fiction will lead people away from Jesus and cause them to start doing odd things like voting for Democrats and having gay marriages.

Because the story is questioning Jesus. In the story Jesus is to have had a relationship with Mary Magdelan who was a prostitute. Any book and or movie that has to do with religion is always going to stir people up, look at what Mel Gibsons Movie about Jesus dying on the cross did. It was talked about for months.

It's because it doesn't agree with the bible. It's a work of fiction. I think they can't distinquish the difference because the bible is also fiction but claims to be true. It's confusing to people who accepted the bible on blind faith. A lot of the bible is told in parables. These are little works of fiction used to make a point.

because the jerk who wrote the book messed with the life of jesus . and it is misleading for a non-christian who has no idea of the life of jesus to see it. because they will assume this rubbish to be the truth. lay-man's idea of fast history gone all wrong. It is sad to see how men mess with the life of the messangers both when they were on earth and also after they were not!sad.....v.sad!

people have nothing to do. They can't just watch and enjoy good film. The need scandal, fuss etc.
