I think the bigger issues with our current newsmedia are:

1) Most newspapers have cut their staffs for budgetary reasons. This is true especially in their investigative reporting areas. The result? Almost no investigative reporting like we saw in Watergate.

2) Partially as a result of the above, the newsmedia often simply reports quotes from sources (especially political and governmental) without doing any due diligence on the accuracy of these quotes. So all we get is the PR from the government and other political leaders.

The only hope I see is that the bloggers in the world will force the mainstream media to take on big questions. Keep your fingers crossed!

what else is new, if you believe everything the media spews out then you are truly naive, they will print or show anything that sells newspapers or advertising on their network. all about money. its a sharkfest when it comes to news stories and who will be the first to report them.
