I always try to acknowledge, and correct, my mistakes, when possible. I also try to make sure anyone involved knows about the mistake. That is why I prefer to admit "I don't know" when someone asks me something I don't know. When I answer a question I am not sure of I tag on "I think". That way if I am wrong, I have already let people know there is that possibility. If someone tries to shove it down my throat that I was wrong, I simply remind them that I told them I wasn't sure, and that my answer was an educated guess.

For me, I learn life lessons by looking at my mistakes. If I was not able to admit my mistakes, I would be a lot worse off than I am now. Of course it is very difficult to admit mistakes, but it must be done if we are to grow. I am willing and able to admit my many mistakes.

It's very hard to admit one's mistake especially if you're full of pride. There's such thing as pointing fingers to get you off the hook or simply denying that you've made a mistake.

As for me, Yes I do,..It's difficult but I do it. When I'm really close to a person I've made a mistake on, I tell them face to face. If, we are not so close I would write you a note or letter and I would apologize as I admit my mistakes.

Well first we should know our mistakes. Then its upto us to either admit it or avoid admitting. If I know what my mistakes are, I try to correct them. And for that I need to admit them. So I always admit my mistakes.
Sometimes when we do something wrong that hurts people, we dont appologise. Thats because of our ego. We must make sure that we dont hurt people because of our mistakes and tell them we admit it.
Its really important to admit our mistakes, learn from them and then correct them.

Yes, I would freely admit my mistakes. I often try to tell my family or whoever when I have made a mistake. I don't think it's nothing wrong with admitting when you're wrong. We can't always be right.

I admit that I have done some mistakes in the past that I regret now. No harm is done, but don't all learn from our mitakes, and try not to repeat them. That's the moral of the lesson.

Obviously everyone hates to admit they were wrong, but there have been many times when I have been forced to get over myself, admit my mistakes and apologise for them, even to people I dislike.

SURE I would -- - but think about it - if you admit mistakes you may not last long if you are a physician, lawyer, judge, car mechanic, chef, plumber, electrician, building inspector, dog trainer, teacher, newspaper reporter, accountant, tax preparer, cashier,

-People would loose their confidence in you.

but I guess, if you are a professional athlete you can admit mistakes

I have no problem admitting my mistakes. It is essential to do so, especially if we have hurt others. They cannot know your apology is truly heartfelt, until you admit your mistake.

Why not admit the, anyway? Not acknowleging them sure doesn't help anything, or erase them.

It takes a better person to admit them.
