When they manage to qualify for it!
This time they went out in stage 2. To be fair it was hard for India as they was drawn in a group with Japan and seeing as only the group winners progress it was a tough task against Asia's best team. Maybe for 2010 they will get a better draw and improve their team to at least get to stage 3. The only problem for those that do not know is every sport in India comes after Cricket, Cricket, Cricket and ermm.. Cricket. Oh and field hockey and badminton.

You probably mean the final phase of the FOOTBALL WORLD CUP.
It will take a long time before India gets there -- they'll have to improve enormously.

only after they forget about boring cricket. and Indian government and corporate world giver more sponsors to football. and importantly they produce few players who can compete at the highest level in Europe. that could take time, but you never know..
