Don't be so sure it won't be a Bush again. Brother Jeb is being touted as a possible Republican candidate. I'd say Hillary Clinton is the front-runner.

It would be nice to think that a candidate will stand who will set up an investigation into whether Bush broke US or international law by invading Iraq and if so put him and his henchmen on trial. There could also be a rethink on American foreign policy generally. Unfortunately, the US system doesn't work like that and we can be sure that whoever is next, we'll just get more of the same.

If Mr. Bush manages to get his gay marriage ban constitutional amendment passed, it might be him again. That is, assuming, that he uses the opportunity to insert additional verbiage to repeal the presidential two term limit and is actually able to get it passed and ratified.
If he uses the 'patriotism' card again successfully, he might be able to actually do it before the 2008 election year... a horrifying thought.
Well, Bush won't be getting that amendment passed at least this year. The senate shot that one down today (6/7/06), thankfully.
