What I mean is..is it 5 days after your period started that you are ovulating and can become pregnant? If so,does that mean sex at any other times is pregnancy safe? I may sound ignorant, but it's been a long time since high school sex ed. Please no sarcastic remarks.I'm humbly asking a question!

Ovulation is 14 days before or after after your period.Depending on the lenght of your cycle. So there is a greater possibility of pregnancy during this time. The Safe time is "theoretical". Human body defies laws at times.

Ovulation is about the 13-14th day after the date your last periods began. So that is the best time to try to conceive. The Rhythm method of birth control, i.e, sex at any time other than this ovulation period is not safe. I mean, you could still conceive. if you are trying to conceive, please go see an ob/gyn.
