Yes he can. We just tend to forget a batsman's ability when he isn't in his best form. That's what most people did with Dhoni. Everyone concluded that he can't play on foreign pitches. Dhoni is already on the way of becoming a superstar.

he has the potential to become a superstar....but he is not able to show his capability outside India...what he needs to do is to play as he did yesterday...he played superbly...and if you talk about Dhoni's becoming a superstar...I think he is a superstar for Indians...you ask Indians... they will reply that they love him...his hair...his batting style...everything...this prove that he is already a superstar but still he has to show that he can do better and much better than what he has shown us till now...so that he can become a worldwide superstar...

Well a lot of new youngsters are in the team now, and Dhoni too is new. Its obvious that only very few of them will go ahead and truly shine. So now people are thinking that Dhoni will be one of them.

Only if he's moved up the order. They always play him number 6. He's about as good and as fast as Gilchrist. Since India tries to open with Dravid, Dhoni should take his place as opener.
