total distance traveled = 6 blocks
relative position from starting point = 2 blocks east

all blocks DO NOT have to be the same size for this answer to be true, that would be an incorrect assumption. however, to convert the answer to some other units it would be easier if all blocks were equal.

If the blocks are of same length, the displacement is the length of two blocks and the distance travelled is length of 6 blocks..If the blocks are not of he same lengths, then the distance travelled is the sum of the lengths of the 6 blocks.

However since the girl has measured the distance while she walked whatever be the direction the total distance she has walked as stated by herself is 6 blocks.

This is actually quite simple ... although several answers are possible ...

Girl walked a total of 6 blocks even thought she only ended up 2 blocks east of her ORIGINAL LOCATION.

Hope this helps.

The obvious call here is for the two blocks thing (two blocks east) ----but as stated she has actually traveled six blocks.....If one circumnavigates the globe and arrives where they first departed have they not traveled around the world ???

Assuming the blocks are at right angles to each other (ie you're not at the South Pole or somewhere similar), she is 2 blocks from her starting point (although she actually walks 6 blocks).
