why not have 2? add some ram, new hard drive, and the xp disk. it will work fine. i would also recomend adding a nex ethernet card so you can get a broad band connection. then u can use 2 computers on the net at the same time and same line

There are places that recycle old & broken computer monitors & parts, the cathode tubes in the monitors are dangerous to the environment. Some computer places will accept old equipment & salvage the parts from them. Call around first before adding more waste to your local waste landfill. Donate it, heck..I'll buy it.

You might be able to donate the computer to a school in your area. You would need to contact the Education board to find out which school would accept them.

If no one will accept it, so a search in the yellow pages for recycaling computers . Some will charge you a minimal fee. Depends on where you live.

If you can't sell/donate it, then take it to your local civic/household amenity site's (council tip) household appliances area.
Under EU regulations they are now required to recycle materials / dispose of them in an environmentally friendly way.
I think in the not to distant future the manufacturers will be required to fund/assist in the recycling process for their products.

sell it on ebay,or local paper, bulliten board, or donate to a school or church, and get a tax write off, give it to a neighbor who doesn't have one, look for a free recycling center, I run one here where I live, I take them in, clean them out and find good homes for them
