You can be proud of what your nation stands for. When it comes to the individual, the pride you feel is based on your actions. As for race, well....I'm white, too....but, based on that alone, I have no right to feel superior to anyone.

But, you can feel proud to be a member of any group....as long as it is something you believe in.

True - it seems strange to be proud to be white, black, hispanic or whatever. It's just a shell. You can be proud to be of whatever heritage you have simply because it's something your family passed down to you. Traditions, stories, meals and memories. If you don't respect where you came from, good or bad, how can you respect yourself?

I believe that since it is a part of you you should still be proud of it but definitely not consider yourself superior in any way because you do have that "something" whatever that may be.
