I have two rabbits, when I got my dwarf he didnt appear to sleep, but then one day he fell over and was down for like ten min. I thought He was dead! Rabbits Generally only sleep for minutes at a time, its more about chill time with them, they sit in the same spot and stare off into the world. Try letting your rabbit roam a room for awhile like an hour, it should tucker him or her out. Also rabbits like company get him or her a friend, G. pigs work great. Good luck!

Yes, rabbits obviously sleep. Maybe try videotaping him/her when you are sleeping so you will know for sure. If they never slept then they would die from stress. If you have your rabbit in a cage then I would suggest putting a blanket over the cage, that way no light comes in and he will have no choice to go to sleep. This is also a great way to calm your animal down. I do it with many of my animals. Anytime you take your rabbit in the car make sure the tank is covered so that its dark inside.

I have seen my rabbit sleep but only for a little while. Don't worry there's nothing wrong with your rabbit. My rabbit does the same thing.

My rabbit he refused to go to sleep when I was there cause his cage was so small and he didn't get alot of exercise. ( I didnt know his cage was to small at the time.) One day I came home early and I saw he was asleep. It was the cutest thing I've ever seen. But as soon as he saw me he jumped up and started chewing on his cage to get out. He may just be so happy to sleep. Rabbits are nocturnal (I think.....) So they are asleep during the day and wake up in the morning. Oh if his not going to sleep is a problem put a towel over the cage. Thats what I do to make my bunny go to sleep.

Rabbits never sleep, there too busy making other rabbits. Sorry, just kidding. Your rabbit sleeps of course just probably when you do, so you don't see this. You might check to see if she has dark circles under the eyes, as this is a symtom of insomnia.

Yes... Rabbits do sleep. Mine sometimes sleep sitting up, and you wouldn't know it until you look closely. They require sleep like anything else, yours may sleep when you are sleeping and be active all day long. All rabbits are differant.

i also have a 6 pound male rabbit, he eats a lot, follows me around and begs for treats. i know what your talking about, it seems like they never sleep right? mine does the same exact thing. in fact when i stay all night studying until 8 or 9 am my rabbit is wide awake right beside me not even looking tired like i do. i think they sleep whenever no one is at home, when they are completely relaxed and they dont have anything else to do but to wait for their owner to come home and play. at least thats what i think.
i actually have a question, does your rabbit also tend to like all of a sudden throw himself to the ground layed on one side and not move? i mean does he play 'dead' sometimes? my rabbit does that and its wierd, he throughs himself on the ground, i mean he doesnt slowly lay down, the throws himself on the ground on one side letting his ears flop on top of his face. and when i get close i see his eyes are like, not showing, you know when a person sleeps their eyeballs move around right? well my rabbit does that in random moments actually he does it often in the bathroom for some reason, i had no idea why, seems like he falls into some long long sleep and then after like 45 seconds he wakes up again. he only does that when he is in a good mood.

Rabbits normally eat at night or in the early morning. They usually sleep during the day although very lightly. It's more of a survival instinct that they sleep lightly.

Rabbits need to sleep, and your rabbits must be sleeping when you are unaware.
I had 2 mini rex rabbits and they slept all day.
They were very active at night and sometimes woke me as they chased each other.
They were very relaxed around me, and would easily fall asleep while I held them and stroked their forehead and back.
I've heard of some rabbits falling asleep with their eyes open while laying on their side. Yours could be doing the same, or it may simply be stirring from its sleep whenever it becomes aware of your presence.
