As often or as little as you like, I see my parents only a couple of times a year but speak on the phone with them every week which works out fine.

We cannot choose our relatives, if you don't like them then don't visit. if it is a family duty thing - such as helping to look after an elderly or disabled relative, then you ought to 'do your duty' as one day you may need family support yourself. But remember, your visit may mean an awful lot to the person you are visiting. Would a weekly visit to an ageing aunt be too much to ask? if she lives 500 miles away, then yes it would be too much to ask. If she is in the next road - then no it wouldn't. Just weigh all the pros and cons and make a sensible conclusion.

You do not HAVE to visit them at all. In an ideal situation you go 'cos you wnat to. They may be putting you under pressure to visit them. Is this the case?

it always depends on how close you all are .... if you never find enough time a quik phone call to say hi is ok......... id be lucky to c my mom once a fortnight but i always have the chance to have a quick chat on the phone ...

as often as we can as they wont be around for long and i know it's horrible to say but anything could happen to then thats least expected sorry to say it :(
