I am trying to organise something special for my boyfriends birthday and using google to search the internet for idea's.
How do I stop him from finding out, as a history list of previous searches appears when something is typed into google?

Clear your AutoFill forms

If you're using Safari, here's how

go to Safari > Preferences
click on the Autofill tab
click the edit button across "other forms"
select the google site and click delete OR
click delete all

Also, if you used the searchbar in Safari, click the icon in the search bar and go down to "Clear Recent Searches"

Just for safe measure, you may want to delete cookies as well. In the future, use Private Browsing, available with Safari RSS (Mac OS 10.4 only), or uncheck the Other Forms box in the Autofill tab.

If you mean the history on the google toolbar, the toolbar should have an 'options' menu to click on. Go to the search tab in the box and change your settings. I'm using Firefox & Win XP

Hope that's clear. :-)

Best wishes JaneP

Yeah, just checked, as Robert B suggested, if you left click the google logo on the left of the toolbar the option to clear search history is available in the list.

If its the same as Yahoo, near the search bar is a pencil which when clicked on will open to say "Clear recent Searches"

If you are using
-Internet Explorer:
Tools->Internet Options->Content->AutoComplete->UNcheck the fields you don't need->Clear Forms
-FireFox:
Tools->Options->Privacy->UNcheck "Save information I enter in forms and search bar."
