This is not a science question but I'll answer it anyway.
I think it's safe to say, no the world will not end on 6-06-06 period, unless some terrorist group or cult destroys it (which would be difficult to do).
In Revalations, the number of "the beast" is said to be 666. The problem with this is, new interpretations of scripture put the number at 612, not 666. Also, if Armegedon is the end of the world, it says in Revelations that no one knows when this will occure, "not even the Angles in heaven".
Now, even if the number were 666, and it is said the world was to end on that date, you have to realize that we do not use the same calander that was in use when Revelations was written.
Our calander is the Gregorian calander. It was adjusted from the Julian calander. The Julian calander was drawn up based on astronomical observations during the reign of Julius Caesar. The Gregorian calander was an attempt by the church to create a calander system relative to the birth of Jesus.
The problem with this is, we don't know when the exact birth of Jesus was (should he have existed). Some speculate that we're off by an extraordinary amount of years.

You are not alone in making the mistake of ignoring the 200 in front of the 6 for the year. it will be,(or would have been) 06.06.a.m 06.06.2006. So as none of the 6's touch what is all the fuss about? This is some sort of primitive superstition that induces people to forget the basics of literacy and numeracy, and not the sort of incisive forward looking thinking we need to thrust us boldly into the 21st Century! (Apologies for the rant, I just see it everywhere and it irritates me!)

technically it will be 18:06. if the world had to end it would have at 6:06 in the morning. so i guess it won't.
