Although the police say Kennedy appeared intoxicated, higher ups ordered them to drive him home. He was never given a breathalyser test. He claimed he was going to a congressional meeting at 2:00 A.M. Are the Kennedy's above the law, and what do you think should have happened?

A few respondents instead of answering the question correctly chose instead to use it as a forum to bash Bush. I did'nt ask anything about Bush or any republican, I asked about Kennedy. Blind hatred will get you nothing but ulcers later on in life.

I think it's a travesty of justice, to say the very least (the rest I'd like to add I can't say on yahoo without them editing most of it!) that the "rich and the famous" can get away with whatever the hell they do, unlike the rest of us "common-folk"! How are we supposed to want to respect authority when our laws only pertain to those who can't even afford to hire a good defense attorney? It's B------t.

Without the name Kennedy, he would have been given a breathalyzer and taken to jail. Yes the Kennedys think they are above the law. Just look at Ted?? They allow him to walk around intoxicated.

Your point?

That was about 40 years ago. Bush only allegedly gave up his booze habits less that 10 years ago, used cocaine, lied about hid DUI and had sealed a drug conviction. The 1st criminal elected president!

How is your closet?

Yes, he should have been arrested.

He's a liar. But like father, like son.

They are above the law, apparently. But at least he didn't kill a girl. Or did they even check the trunk?

They should've hauled him to the drunk tank.

Bush wasn't arrested for any of his countless impaired driving adventures, so why should Kennedy have been arrested?
