some people's water break at the onset of labour, some don't have the water break until the baby is coming out. Usually, though the doctor breaks the water at about 5 or 6 centimetres to speed labour up.

Unfortunately, there's no clear answer for this question. Every woman is different, so there's no way to predict it. However, in most cases, the water breaks after going into labor. But it does still happen before the onset of labor once in a sometimes.

I wasn't dilated much at alll, but, it's different for everyone, some women have their waters break and then give birth just an hour later.

5cm roughly depends. Sometimes your water needs help to break. R u pregnant. If your not sure maybe you could try ringing your closest hospital and speak to a midwife. Goodluck if you are. Congratz also!

I was like 3 for a month before mine broke. I was lying in bed when it happen. I had no pain for about 2 hours after it broke.

yeah, it breaks when it is time to go to the hospital. But mine never did naturally and the doctor always had to do it. Things took longer because of that.

My wife's water never broke. Her water bag came out intact minutes before my daughter was born. I've heard that is good luck, but don't quote me on that.

It can happen at any level of dialation. However you can expect full dialation to occur shortly after.
