Normally we use FTP to upload our site data to the server.
E.g.....

ftp.myspace.com

you can store your music files on your DOT COM or whatever extension you can get. When you get into the main route of the FTP site, you might see wwwroot (for Windows Server) or root (for Linux). Consider it like a normal windows folder and location filing. That might be easy to understand.

But remember this.... DO NOT UPLOAD MUSIC, MOVIES (ALL SORT OF COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL) THAT IS COPYRIGHTED AND MISUSE OF ANY TRADEMARKS, LOGOS to prevent you from any LAWSUIT from any parties.

Sorry for the caps but make those word in mind.

You can build it by using an appropriate software like - Netscape Navigator, Dream weaver MX, First Site, etc.
You must have a host provider - free - not recommended - doesn't offer enough space to store music.
paid - yes - you connect to the web server throw FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and upload you're web pages and music.
First page must contain a starting page called - index.HTML or index.HTM

Good luck !

In case you want to build your own site to store music, you can do it for free.

Try yahoo's geocities @ www.geocities.com

.You can create your own website for free(if you dont want to pay anything that is)
.You upload you music files to one of these free webhoasting services.

Attach the links and file name to your website. So that others can download from it.
