jewelry is nice.. but can have drawbacks (like can be too much). Try a scented candle or light perfume or oil. For a guy, cologne/ aftershave.. or something that will make him recall some funny or special time you had together. Even a hacky-sack is appreciated! Anything that will say, "I was thinking of you"...

Get him/her something from the heart. I always wanted a Magic 8 ball. My best friend got me one. He likes cowboys (yes he's gay), so I brought him his own cowboy back from my trip to TX. Now granted it was a stuffef Woody doll from the Disney store, but he knows that I was thinking of him. He also loves Starburst jelly beans, which they only make at easter time so I buy a whole bunch and hide them in the closet and ever so often give him a bag. To me it is the little things, not piece of jewelery or flowers.

The perfect gift is jewerly.not nothing to high or low in price, butmake sure you put yourself in her shoe's.If you got that present, well jewerly would you remember her. Also a nice letter letting her know how you fell.Or a card so that way if she isn't a girlfriend she wont get mixed siginals.Let her know she will have a place with you where she will always be remembered.

For women: jewelry is good but it doesn't necessarily have to be diamond studded or in gold (depends on how long have you been friends) Perfume is a good choice too. For men: hankerchiefs or a necktie. Although, my friend (who i secretly admire too) i gave him a phone accessory that has his initials and he loved it, especially he's the only one who has them and his friends are asking where he bought it.

it's always the best choice to give something you did yourself. In some gifts, its the thought that counts. =0)
