Cialis is likely still under a patent, so there won't be a direct generic equivelant, however there are many other drugs you can ask your doctor about that do the same thing. Here is a quick list: Levitra, Caverject, Muse, Edex, Yocon, Yodoxin and of course Viagra.

All the legitimate prescription drugs (Viagra, Levitra, Cialas, etc.) are expensive. I've never seen any evidence at all that those non prescription drugs do a thing for you. I'm a Viagra user and what I do (with my doctor's approval) is get the largest dose (100mg) and then split the pills in two. You can get a pill splitter at the drug store. I only need 50mg so that cuts my per dose cost in half. All dosage sizes (25mg, 50mg, 100mg) are the same price of course. We are being ripped off big time by the drug companies but what else is new? Until generic versions become evailable we are "screwed" but without the drugs we don't get "screwed" (sorry about that!) so that's about all I can tell you. I've found that there is a little variance in price at different pharmacies and I've seen Viagra for as little as $7 per pill so it might be good to shop around. I was in heaven when I was still working and my health plan at work gave me 24 pills for $5 (what a bargain...and that's what they really should be selling for!)

Often the perception of Viagra can be clouded by the fact that there are hordes of similar products available for people to buy. These products are labeled as generic Viagra or herbal Viagra in order to cash in on the brand recognition that Viagra has. The generic products can often be made with similar ingredients, but the formulations are different to the original product created by Pfizer. The herbal products are often created from completely different ingredients, but are intended to have the same effects as the original products.
Each of these products is competing in the same market as Viagra and in order to increase their market share they trade on the brand of Viagra to make themselves appear more official. They are in fact mostly nothing to do with Viagra in an official capacity, in fact if anything they are products that people are warned about purchasing since they typically have not undergone sufficient testing to prove their efficiency and safety when consumed. The association with Viagra that they have formed within people's minds often leads people to believe that the harmful effects that they are experiencing are due to Viagra.
In addition to those products which label themselves as Viagra there are also those products which are legitimate products, like Levitra and Cialis. These products are intended to provide users with similar affects to those achieved when consuming Viagra. These products are monitored and tested as stringently as Viagra and should not be confused with those products that pretend to be Viagra. Cialis and Levitra are composed of different active ingredients to Viagra and therefore while the effects are similar they may be experienced in a different manner. This includes longer periods for which the drug is active in the body or shorter periods before the drugs effects are felt after consumption.
There is no denying that adverse side effects can be experiences as a result of taking any official drugs like Viagra or Cialis, but there are always guidelines on exactly what can cause these effects and what can be done to avoid them. The generic versions or herbal alternatives can also cause adverse side effects, but they are far less documented and guidelines are often absent. This provides greater chances of a person experiencing side effects since they will have no idea if the product they are taking has ingredients that are contra-indicated for them. This can often lead to people perceiving Viagra, Cialis or Levitra as being more dangerous than they actually through the name association with these alternative medications.

Cialis can slightly lower blood pressure. This is not a problem for most men, but Cialis' effect on blood pressure is exaggerated if the Cialis is taken with a nitrate drug. Nitrates are one of the treatments doctors prescribe for angina. If you take Cialis when you are also taking nitrates, the combined effect of the Cialis and the nitrates can lower your blood pressure to such an extent that it could prove fatal. Never take Cialis when taking nitrates. When a man is sexually stimulated nitric oxide is released into the penis. Nitric oxide makes guanylate cyclase produce cGMP . cGMP controls the dilation and contraction of the blood vessels that carry blood to and from the penis when those supplying the penis with blood are dilated, and the others that remove blood from the penis are contracted, an erection occurs.
