its not a remake. but it is very similar to The Sons of Katie Elder, a John Wayne movie, with Dean MArtin in it too. i watched it and definitely saw similarities. I loved Four Brothers.

John Singleton, the director, said he based the movie on the Western genre...I don't remember him mentioning a specific one, other than that was the feeling he was going for...
