ive heard from the ppl who play oldschool CS that Source totally sucks, blah blah. i dont know what to believe... help me out decide whether i should spend my time and money on this Source or not. i got a 2.53 Ghz pentium 4 with a 64mb geforce mx420 gfx card. and 512 mb ddr sdram memory.

Go Oldschool.
It's true that Source is terrible. Extremely limited in terms of choice of maps to play on, and the few maps available are all big or very big or very very big. Although the graphics are definitely better, it doesn't offer anything more than oldschool CS, which provides many more maps and is much more fun.
So yea, go Oldschool!

CS:Source definitely has better graphics, but the gameplay is way different from CS 1.6. If you don't have money to upgrade your computer, buy CS 1.6. Else, buy Source and wait for the ProMod modification to be released. It'll change the gameplay to the original CS 1.6 style. If you want to upgrade, I suggest you buy any GeForce 6800-based graphics card. Or go for a Radeon X1300-based graphics card or GeForce 6600-based graphics card, if you are short on cash. You should find them in any nearby computer hardware store. This upgrade will allow you to play CS:Source at 100fps at 1024x768 resolution. Also, if you want to participate in World Cyber Games or Electronic Sports World Cup, go for CS 1.6 as it is the version to be used in these events in the year 2007.

You're running pretty low to be able to run CS:S, check the minimum specs. I personally prefer Source version, better physics engine, smoother graphics and light sourcing. The gameplay is the same. For your system you'll have to settle for the old one tho...

I don't see why your so worked up about counter strike when Halo 2 is out. There is also ghostrecon. But Usaully new ones are better but not pacman it stays origanly best.
