When I was in high school, I was terrible at math. I could never focus or concentrate, because I just didn't enjoy it...
Now, I'm in college, and I learned how to study. I'm taking Calculus II next semester, and I did very well in Pre-Calculus and Calculus I. The most important thing is to PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE! Do problems that your teacher didn't even assign, just to make sure you can do them! ESPECIALLY in sections where you didn't do so well. Reread sections that you didn't understand, memorize the formulas you'll need to know, and listen to the hints that your professors give about what will be emphasized on the exam. These things aren't easy, and they take time... but you will do well.

Be actively involved in managing the learning process, the mathematics and your study time:
Take responsibility for studying, recognizing what you do and don't know, and knowing how to get your Instructor to help you with what you don't know.
Attend class every day and take complete notes. Instructors formulate test questions based on material and examples covered in class as well as on those in the text.
Be an active participant in the classroom. Get ahead in the book; try to work some of the problems before they are covered in class. Anticipate what the Instructor's next step will be.
Ask questions in class! There are usually other students wanting to know the answers to the same questions you have.
Go to office hours and ask questions. The Instructor will be pleased to see that you are interested, and you will be actively helping yourself.
Good study habits throughout the semester make it easier to study for tests.

If you are not good at math then i suggest doing lots of practice problems. You should find a lot in your book and keep doing them till you get the right answers. They usually give the odd numbered answers in the back, right? Anyways, it's hard but give it a try.
If you are pretty good and have been earning good grades in math so far, i suggest just REVIEWING how to do the different kinds of projects. Look over your notes for that....and like I said, once you know how to do it there's really nothing else you can do to study. Good luck =)

My strategy is to take good notes in class, and then use them (throughout the semester) to do lots of practice problems. For me, just doing the problems over and over is what helps the most. You can't truly learn to swim if you never step into the water.

i suggest that you make notes from your math textbook and worksheets, then study them. memorise all the formulas. it is still better to do some practices, as practise makes perfect. don't give yourself too much stress and don't burn midnight oil. also remember not to focus on other entertainments.
