You're vacationing with your spouse in a foreign country for 2 weeks, and in the middle of the night you find a wallet. Nobody is with you. The identification in the wallet shows that it belongs to a citizen of another country. In the wallet is an amount of money that nearly equals what you will end up paying for your vacation. What would you do with the wallet and it's contents?

Well, I can offer my own situation from last summer... without the vacation part as I am a "working poor single mom" and cannot afford a vacation. I was driving down the street through a very nice, "older money", part of town. I looked to my right and saw a very expensive woven purse (from Dillards, a store I can't even afford to step foot into). It was obvious someone had left it on the roof of her car and forgotten about it. Well, I gingerly looked into the checkbook to obtain the woman's address or phone number, called her, and made an appointment for her to come to my house and pick it up. I actually offered to take it to her. Anyhow, there were quite a few "hundreds" peeking out of her wallet.. I did not pick it up to see how many hundreds since I felt it would be an invasion of her privacy. The woman was extremely grateful and later sent me a card with a cheque for 100 dollars for my trouble. I decided that I would split the "found money" between both of my kids. They each got 50 bucks and a very good lesson.

I, having scruples, would turn it in to the authorities so they can help find the person that lost the wallet. I would hope that if this happened to me and I lost my wallet that someone would be kind enough to turn it into the authorities as well. However, no a days not many people have scruples. Of course, not many people would no what scruples were. ;o)

I probably would. But I am sure I would get a reward, but if not that's ok. I would be blessed in another way.
