You already answered your question by stating you know nothing will ever become of this and like you stated this is a Hugh crush. Therefore, the only thing you can do is move forward and i am sure there are alot of cute guys at this college you are attending, but if older is what you prefer, then that is totally your choice, but you need to learn the boundaries of like and lust.Lust can become confusing with liking someone as well. The reason for my statement on that is from your response towards your teacher, because do you know him that personally to be so crazy about him? This is why i made mention of the boundary issue. There is someone for everyone and you will know and find him when the timing is right, until then keep a open mind to the other guys around you that might really be as intelligent as well that really has a crush on you as well.College should be all about having fun,as well as finding your place in the future of your destiny of careers,so enjoy these years, you can not turn back time,so don't waste it on something,as you mentioned that you can not have or go any further on.Good Luck to you!

Leave him alone! It spells trouble for a teacher to get involved with a student and the fact that you know nothing will ever come of it is an indication to move on. Besides, as a woman of 47, age has little to do with the level of a person's intelligence. That's a misconception a lot of people have. Not all older men are better and more intelligent. That applies to women too. It's about finding the right one for you that you are compatible with. That could be any age. Of course any "LEGAL" age. Sometimes we are infatuated with someone by their looks, the way they speak, or other things we see on the outside, then if we get to know them. we ask ourselves, "what the hell did I ever see in this person". The desire for someone is usually far greater than the reality of it.

You could just ask him out. If he turns you down, you can move on. I think older guys are cool... but some younger guys are good too... trust me, I know... I've been in love with several younger guys. Don't single out a whole portion of the population for some generalization, look for a PERSON, not an AGE GROUP... you'll have a better chance of finding the one you're looking for.

You deal with it. There's nothing you can do. You just have to suck it up and have a fantasy. Unfortunately that's the way it goes sometimes. Don't beat yourself up about it and don't put it out there because you'll either get what you want and it won't be all it's cracked up to be or you just get embarassed and never be able to go to that class again. And yeah older guys are hot...as long as they don't have old balls ;)

Elli, I really feel for you! I have had a similar situation. I was cracy in love obsessed with a younger girl [22] and we did not get together[long and sad story] but you have to make an effort first. Should it not work out the only way you will forget about him is with time. It´s been 2 years for me... she is still on my mind.
good luck to you.

yes i can understand this because, love and the romantic and sensuous feelings r related to the mind which themselves r real and true.but we have to encounter one more truth, the social truth.every individual has individual prefrences and the sad thing for the emotional aspect of two people is sometimes they match but other times they dont.
u say to urself :1-that its a reality that u like that guy to that extent ,and 2-that the other reality is that ur teacher's social preferenc will never match yours.so in short-always remember him but also be strong to move on in and with ur life.
and yes people who have experienced more tend to become more responsible individuals.so ur assessment is right.

You need to find a good hobby to take your mind off the teacher. I do agree older men are great but you should not limit yourself at a young age.

Get over it, it's cute but don't get psycho. I had handsome teachers too but I was realistic about not ever crossing that line, there are a lot of older single men out there

Wait till the class is over, invite him to have a cup of coffee with you on campus, and see if there's any chemistry. I don't see anything wrong with that once the student / teacher relationship is over.

Agreed that it is his maturity your reacting to, but also agreed to that you are wanting something you know you can't have and that has to be a sign of insecurity or avoidance of what you could have out of fear on your part.
