Well, as said about, Adam works. I'm named Adam, and I happen to like the name very well.

Most of the names of the apostiles will work. Also, while it's an old name, Abraham is a strong name. David & Joseph are good names, too.

Just DON'T name him Jesus. I'm sorry, it's a good name, but that's it's problem. It's a 'Good' name, the name of the Lord. And I don't understand why people name their children that. That name should be reserved for Him only.

Good luck, there are many good names in the Bible. Choose wisely, becuase in today's world, Simon Peter probably would be picked on in the public school system. :-)

Isaac, Jonah, Seth, Caleb, Jonathan, Samuel, Samson, Levi, Joseph, Joshua, Jeremiah, Solomon, Joel, Micah, Malachai, Andrew, Angel, Abraham, Noah, Jared, Jacob, Reuben, Eli, Saul, Nathan, Elijah, Aaron, Ezra, Asher, Benjamin, Michael, David

These are just a few biblical names. Some are common, some are unique. I think they're all great names. Don't listen to the people who are against biblical names. Biblical names are beautiful and as you can see more common than you might think.

First off CONGRATULATIONS on your impending son!

Secondly - how about begging or borrowing an exhaustive STRONG'S concordance? There is a section on names and their meanings including the lesser used names.

Pick something that isn't too common these days that has a fulfilling meaning that you hope your son will grow into.

I called my son Jethro which means 'excellence' or 'abundance' and he loves to be told that! Plus he is the only Jethro in the school so no confusions but with a name that is shortish and easy to spell.
