Why does everyone like the movie so much? They killed half of the major characters, including Gene- and by the way, why couldn't they just give her the cure like they did to Magnito?

I just got back from seeing the movie. I was disappointed. I loved the first two films, especially the second one. It is true, that we do not know for sure if Scott is really dead. Maybe Jean was killed off because she was just too powerful. And what was with Angel? They started off well by introducing the anguish he went through as a child trying to hide the fact that he had wings, and then he rebles against his dad and decides he does not want the cure. It was as if they were leading up to create him to be a major character, but it never happened. Everyone and their dog seemed to get written off in the new film and that pissed me off. I think the problem is with the whole script. Bryan Singer directed the first two films and he abandoned X-3 to direct Superman Returns. Two of the screenwriters from the first two X-Men films did not work on X-3 because they wanted to work with Bryan on Superman Returns. So I guess that means the real behind-the-scenes talent of the first 2 X-Men films all left for Superman, so that probably means that Superman will be a really good film.

some people like marvel comics and watch the movies like trekkies. Gene wasnt a mutant and she was more powerful than magnito, plus during the battle all the serum was destroyed excpet what was shot into magnito and she wanted to die because she knew her powers could destroy, she couldnt control it and it could and would be used by the wrong people. it was the "Lasy Stand". maybe the last of the series or is it?

The problem with Jean Gray wasn't that she was a mutant, it was to do with the fact that she had a split personality, and the bad part of her brain pvertook the good part. If she was given the cure she'd still be immensely evil.
I think people liked the film so much was because if the characters (except for Cyclops - everybody I spoke to was kinda glad he died). Notice though that everybody's favourites survived... Magneto, Mystique, Wolverine, Storm... the Professor...

screw wolverine and gene, they both suck, cyclops was the freaking leader of xmen, he should have staid alive, the time line and the story for the movie was all screwed up, i mean if they were going to screw up the story they might as well put a few more xmen in the picture, im sick and tired of wolverine hoging the screen. they should have just named the movie , wolverine, because the xmen merely stood behind him the whole dang time. i mean id rather watch storm then wolverine do the same crap over and over again. and for the guy that said hes glad cyclops died, screw him, cyclops was the best leader out of all of them. the people who made the movies are idiots.

Because I read the comic. In the comic Jean comes back to life, after being the Phoenix. It also never showed her killing Scott so who's to say he's really dead? She never killed him in the comic. When you read the comics its just so great to see these characters come to life on the big Screen. And Magneto regains his powers.

Yeah... it's sad that some main characters died, but the action and special effects of the movie just made it great!

Good point! Its not like there weren't like a million viles of the humanizing juice around. Why didn 't Wolverene just stick her with one of those instead of his knuckle blades. BEATS ME!
