I like aloe vera, too, as the previous person said. Make sure it is the good stuff...the container should state a percentage of active ingredients, and not many additives. Also, I suggest Vitamin E Oil. Get capsules (good quality), and pierce them with a sterilized needle. Massage gently into the newly tender areas. Also, witch hazel is a good soothing tonic. Also, wear loose comfortable underwear and clothing for the first day or so. I also suggest that you use a loofah or gentle "buff-puff" as the hairs grow back to avoid ingrowns.

Make sure to exfoliate gently with a washcloth in the shower each morning. This will help loosen potentially-ingrown hairs and draw them to the surface, without letting red bumps form.

In terms of products, you can either use a specially-formulated cream like Bikini Zone, or a natural aloe-vera cream.

Also, make sure you're not wearing lots of polyester pants and/or panties made from unnatural fibers. Natural fibers like cotton and linen will keep you from perspiring, which will help minimize irritation. Super-tight pants are also not a good idea, for the same reason.
