When the people made this up, did they make the "right" wing the conservative side because they knew it was the right way to live our lives.

No. Before the French Revolution, the monarchists who supported the king and the monarchy sat on the right side of the hall, and those who did not support the king and his monarchy sat on the left side of the hall. That is what Right and Left means: Monarchist or Democrat.

The right wing is responsible and the left wings can not do anything with out help. They want hand outs and the government to take over our freedoms.

Not really... they generally (well i think) they drew a line of government controll.... and then foud an optimal 50 50 point and then wherever u are u can be said to be right or left wing....
