why don't you try talking to her? see if she can tell you why she's becoming avoidant lately... that way, you can probably work it out with her.

Best friends or not, don't live in each others pockets! People (including you) sometimes need their own space and although they may seem distant sometimes they come back. There will be times when you are distant too because you have other things on your mind. Friendship will last but sometimes you realise their not for you or you just grow out of each other. Give your friend some space if they need it.

Why can't you talk to this person who is supposedly your best friend? I would approach her and mention how you are feeling alittle slighted in this best friend relationship and wanting to know what is the problem so that it can be repaired. It sounds like your friend is trying hard to step up the ladder with more recognition, which in the long run hopefully she will find out that being yourself is the most coolest thing ever! Hope she doesn't go to high up,because the fall will be hard, therefore just be patient and be there for her,if you truly want to hang in there and continue being her best friend. One thing i wanted to mention to you also is it wouldn't hurt you to find and invest as well in other friends, you can have many best friends, not just one.Good Luck to you! Hope everything works out.

I think maybe you should pull her to the side and talk about it and if she brushes you off like it's no problem and everything is the same then you know your friendship isn't the same especially if she can't be honest with you, downgrade her to an associate.

Maybe one of the reasons for her being distant is that she thinks you're up to something...Otherwise, if she doesn't want your friendship in the first place, you wouldn't want a friend like that, would you?

Get some more friends, this doesn't mean leave the friends you now have, it means get a wider range, don't just depend on the small group you have now, mix more!!

'Fame is vapour and popularity is an accident.' No sweat. Be true to yourself and be who you are.
