The drops are called "aqua ear" and they are mostly alcohol. The condition created is called 'swimmer's ear' or 'tropical ear' and occurrs mostly in wet environments when the water doesn't dry well. It can really hurt. I had it recently. You put the drops in and hold your head to one side, then the other. But only do this if you are prone to the condition. Otherwise just let the water dry naturally.

Try this:
Option 1: with one hand, hold the outside of your ear at the midsection-pull it up and back . Tip your head to that side while doing this to allow any water to come forward. You may even take a face cloth in the your other hand and try to absorb water at the opening to your canal while tipping your head.
Option 2: is to hold your ear up and back as described and with a hair blower on the lowest setting, wave it past your ear.
KEEP THE BLOWER AWAY FROM THE EAR perhaps 8-12 inches. DO NOT TOUCH your skin with the blower and DO NOT USE a high setting. This will dry the moisture without you inserting anything into the ear and without rubbing.
To help prevent future occurrences of swimmer’s ear, wear protective earplugs when you’re swimming. You could also use special eardrops.

Try shaking your head on its side (like a sideways head-bang!) or lie on your side for a few minutes. Alternatively you can get stuff called Aqua-Ear that contains alcohol, this makes the water evaporate faster. I get water in my ears after surfing and eventually it comes out.
I copied this from a site I found:
* Step one: Dry the external ear canal after swimming or bathing. Tip the head to drain the ear canal. Use a soft, clean towel to dry the outer ear (the tragus). Next, with the head tipped to the side, use the towel to enter only the first part of the ear canal to soak up any draining water.
* Step two: Mix into a small dropper bottle, one part white vinegar (5% acetic acid) and one part rubbing alcohol (70% isopropyl alcohol). Apply 5-15 drops of this “swimmer’s ear home remedy” into one ear canal. Tip your head (or lay down) for approximately 5 minutes to keep the preventive swimmer’s ear treatment inside the ear canal. Straighten your head and let the alcohol-acetic acid solution drain onto the towel. Dry your ear as in step one. Repeat with the other ear canal.

You can seriously do this I promise that this works turn your head were the water is and jump on one foot hard. Then you can fell the water come out. Or to spend money go to walgreens and get a thing you put in your ear and it dries out the water.

If you feel like you have water in your ears, hold you head to one side and maybe shake it a little and you should feel it draining out. Don't put your head up too soon, or it will go back in. Do this on both sides. Works for me.

drop a couple drops of warm olive oil in your ear. Keep your head tilted and let it sit for about 30 seconds then wipe the oil out. It should help.

Tilt your head to the side, it should come out. If this is a recurring problem, use ear plugs to avoid it getting in there to start with.

You can shake your head and sort of hit your temple. Also, if that doesn't work, you can pour a little rubbing alcohol in your ear and then tip it back over. That works every time, even if it sounds a little weird.
