thank you everybody? I told my husband that we need to wait at least till I go to the doctor, but he is soooo inpatient. I am no longer bleeding and it's only been 3 weeks today that I had the baby. I kinda wanna try but I am scared.

Wait until:
1) Your doctor gives you the OK, since bacteria can be introduced to your vagina during sex and cause infection
2) you're well established with birth control so you don't get pregnant again before your body has a chance to recover ( a week or more of the pill, a new diaphragm fitted, whatever),
3) YOU'VE STOCKED UP ON LUBE!!!!!!!! I kid you not. Get samples of several kinds if you don't know what you and your honey like, or if you do, get the BIG bottle. You're likely to be quite dry for a while after giving birth, and being tired doesn't help, so be generous with the Astroglide.

With my oldest I barely waited 4 weeks (we were horrible - that is why my middle child is a year and 4 days younger.) After my middle son was born I told my husband he wasn't allowed any where near me for at least 3 months. When the 3 months were up I was on Depo and we were bad again. After my youngest was born (I had had a VERY difficult delivery) I waited 4 months.

I had to wait 2 months!! I had a very hard delivery! Most of the time the wait is 6 weeks!

Warning: It will hurt when you do have sex after having a baby! You may bleed too! That is something your OB/GYN may not tell you!

I waited the 6 weeks that my Dr. told me to wait. After I was cleared at my 6 week checkup, we went for it. It was a little painful, but not as bad as I expected it to be. I've always heard to just listen to your body. If you aren't bleeding anymore and feel up to it, I'm sure it will be fine. You know your body better than anyone else. It's not like you can't stop if it doesn't feel right.

We waited 3 weeks because we couldn't take it any longer. It only hurt a little bit... It was less than the pain of waiting any longer! (I had an episiotomy, so I looked to see if I had healed before we did anything.)

about 6 weeks. The midwife mentioned that "magic" number so he was counting down :) Actually I had stopped bleeding at about 4 but wasn't feeling very comfortable with the idea until about 6 weeks.

tell him that if he doesn't wait and the 2 of you try to have sex before the 6 weeks you can risk tearing the stitches and he'll have to wait even longer !!!!Tell him to just be cool and wait until you heal and the baby calms down and is sleeping thru the night, the sex will be better !!!!!!

you are supposed to wait 6 weeks after you give birth only if you had an episiotomy to give yourself time to heal. otherwise you could tear the stitches.

my baby's daddy practically raped me after about 4 weeks. it hurt really bad afterwards and i think it tore a lil cuz it hurt every time i walked. i don't think he cared much.

you should at least wait 6 weeks after your 6 week check -up and then your ob/gyn will give you the go ahead.

I waited 2 months. I had the post check up and got the ok that the plumbing was working right. But it is up to the woman. Every female is diffrent and every child birth experiance is diffrent.

i has sex after four weeks with my son. if you have stitches make sure that you are healed. if you are not on birth conrtol use a condom. they say wait 6 weeks but i never lasted that long. with my daughter we had sex the day i quit bleeding but i didn't rip tear or anything with her.

i had a nurse tell me this: after you have a baby it is natural to want to make love to your husband. as long as you feel you are healed enough to make love then do it. just make sure you use protection or birth control because after you have a baby that is when you are most likely to get pregnant because all your hormones are still out of whack and you are ovulating like crazy trying to get your cycle normal again.

i took her advice and made love to my husband when i felt ready. if you feel pressured by your hubby tell him to lay off until you feel comfortable.

i can tell you this. in sime women it take a while after a baby to get her sex drive back. with my son i didn't get it totally back until he was 18 months. with my daughter it was quicker but we didn't have sex her whole pregnancy because of complications and as soon as i could i wanted to make love to my hubby.

good luck and congrats on the baby.
