55=2(5D)^1/2
55/2=(5D)^1/2
(55/2)^2=5D
(55/2)^2/5=D
^ means to the power of, the last one reads "55 over 2 all to the power of 2 all over 5 equals D"

square both sides

divide by 5

2sqrt(5d) = 55
sqrt(5d) = 27.5
sqrt(5d^2) = 27.5^2
5d = 756.25
d = 151.25
