Or something like that...

They are the lyrics to a very catch 80s, John Mellencap sounding song...although I can't google or yahoo it to find who or what sings it.

Any suggestions?

"Spinning Wheel", By Blood, Sweat, and Tears

What goes up must come down
Spinnin' wheel got to go 'round
Talkin' 'bout your troubles it's a cryin' sin
Ride a painted pony let the spinnin' wheel spin

You got no money and you got no home
Spinnin' wheel all alone
Talkin' 'bout your troubles and you never learn
Ride a painted pony let the spinnin' wheel turn

Did you find the directing sign on the
Straight and narrow highway
Would you mind a reflecting sign
Just let it shine within your mind
And show you the colors that are real

Someone is waiting just for you
Spinnin' wheel, spinnin' true

Don't forget John Mellencamp called himself John Cougar, then John Cougar Mellencamp back then. I know the song you mean but I don't remember the title either. However! Go on his web site here: http://www.mellencamp.com/albums.htm - it has all his album lyrics (just click on the album) and his most recent even has music clips to listen to.
