My first impression was AWWWWW.... You can place small flyers at grocery stores and on public bulletin boards (in stores usually) advertising your babysitting or anything else. Maybe you can run errands for the elderly or spend time with those who don't have anyone (elderly usually) or pet sitting/walking... Plenty of opportunities for someone ambitious like you!

One way to get it out is by word of mouth. Also some grocery stores have free advertising. But make sure that someone like your dad knows your whereabouts, and who you are babysitting for. Also you could maybe be a dog walker for some of the older folks in the neighborhood, or even if someone who is housebound might like someone responsible to maybe do a little light house keeping. The list is endless. You are definately a kind soul to think of helping out your father.

You can get a work permit through school and work. Not as much as you could if you were 16, but enough. I'm not 100% positive if you can get a work permit depending on where you live, but in California you can, and you could still check into it. Also, maybe advertise your babysitting, ask other friends to refer you if they can't babysit one day, and ask you clients if they have any friends with younger children.

Tell your siblings to apply for pell grants-they are free and do not have to be repaid. They can get free money that way yearly if they keep their grades up.
Good luck.
And yes, you could work at other jobs, if you have someone with dependable transportation. Try house sitting or pet sitting too--that would be fun.

Look in ads for jobs in the paper and try to find more ways to save money on things.

That is really wonderful of you. Your father should be very proud. But, I don't think he is expecting you to contribute to the family income yet. I'm sure he wants you to complete your education. Unemployment is temporary. He will get another job because God will see to it. I pray that He does. Don't worry.

Maybe sell your neighbors garage sale items on eBay for a commission? Be sure to charge enough for freight!
