Why's Superman being played by an ugly Aussie?

I thot Superman's sposed to be play by an American. Are foreiners takin over everythin?????

Interesting points to think about when responding to this question:

1) Superman is actually an alien, so why not have a foreigner play the character? He's supposed to be out of place anyway. He has to dress up like a weak pathetic dork just to fit in. He's supposed to be different! So, does it matter that he's not American? No, not really.

2) I'm sure there are some women who will say he is not ugly. Beauty is supposed to be relative, right?

3) Foreigners are not taking over. If they do, that takes generations and generations and by that time, those that do take over would be in fact Americans. You know what I think? I think the natives here are too lazy to work hard and do their best. For instance, some Americans here are too lazy to use spell check. If foreigners come here and work hard, well, power to them! We shouldn't blame them for our shortcomings.

4) And finally, Superman just blows anyway. They could have time traveled to the past and picked up a young Christopher Reeves to play the perfect Superman, but the story and movie would still seem very old and trite. His story just isn't interesting anymore. That's why they had to turn his story into a teenage melodrama for the WB. If it was just an action show, it wouldn't work. After seeing all the Marvel movies, audiences and critics are going to reject Superman.

you got problems...that's all i gotta say...what you should be complaining about is how young he looks. in the previous movies he looks older than the new one...and in this one he was supposed to be old. He supposed to get with Louis later, not when he he looks like he's still in smallville.

and besides he's an alien...from krypton...so why does it matter if he's played by a guy that likes ride in kangaroo's pouch

Superman is an alien from the planet Krypton. Since we don't have any aliens to choose from, any earth actors from any country ought to be just fine. ;)
