we did it about a week before my next period, any possiblity of getting pregnant? How long should i wait to find out, is a week too early?

Yes, a week is to soon wait a lil while longer maybe 2 more weeks and see what happens then, and just wait to see if your period is going to come on, if it doesn't wait a week or 2 after your missed period and take a test.

Blood test can detect around 6 days after pregnancy, and some early test kit claims the same. But normally test kit are used after you missed your period
