A dog had the squirts on it while we were at work and it has set in to an extent. I took the Rug Dr over it twice and it only smells worse. What is the best way to get this out w/out ruining the berber carpet (I rent)? I am getting ready to make a midnight run to WalMart and need suggestions.

By FAR the BEST product-- especially for odors:

Kids 'N' Pets

Quart sized-- about 4 bucks -- I can only find it at Wal-Mart.
Typically, works best if you use it first before you use any other cleaners, since some cleaners can actually "set" the stain. But I have used it on old stains and it still can work.

Took that really strong cat urine odor out of my rugs.
Took cat vomit out in seconds.

Dissolves fresh blood stains in seconds-- actually "digests" odors and stains!

Chocolate stains-- easy work.

You do NOT need to scrub it-- just rub it around.

Afterwords-- if there's any color left at all, use Folex carpet cleaner from Home Depot-- just spray it on -- should finish it off nicely. But you definitely want to use the enzyme cleaner first before you set the stain. I would NOT use heat until you do this. Soak it good, let it dry. Then you might want to use a steam cleaner to get the residue out-- but neither cleaner has ever seemed to leave a residue, other than the residue of the poop/vomit/etc. itself, which you should scrape away as well as you can first anyway.

The great thing about the Kids 'N' Pets is that the cats never peed there again, proving that there wasn't even enough odor left for them to notice. Pretty amazing--

Good Luck!

Since it is a natural substance, I suggest you use a product made by Woolite called 'Oxy Deep'. It will take anything natural out of fabric. I have personally used it on my carpeting to remove pet stains, odors and other various problems. Follow the directions and Waa-la the smell will be gone!

Do big brown dogs make different kinds of stains to little white dogs?

I hope so, for your sake.

Steam clean it with the most powerful machine you can get.
Add some soap to the spot to break up the grease.
