If you've already been to the vet, it wouldn't hurt to call them and let them know of your concerns. If they think it is a problem, they will have you come back in.

What did the vet say? If the vet wasn't too concerned, then the bun should be fine. However, if you feel there might be something he missed, maybe you should take him to another vet. Is your vet for rabbits? Some vets aren't as good with rabbits as they are with cats and dogs. My vet is specifically for exotic/small animals and he's knowledgeable and great with my bunny. If the rabbit is not drinking or eating, that's a bad sign. Especially since rabbits are prey animals, they try not to show any signs that they are hurt ( so that predators don't know they are weak and hunt them). He could just be stressed out...since you did step on him and all. Just take him to another vet & make sure he starts to eat and drink, even if you have to make it drink with a small syringe (the vet can give them to you; I got some when my bunny got neutered and had to take antibiotics). Good luck, and I hope you and that little guy feels better soon!

If you already took the rabbit to the vet, and the vet had no major concerns, s/he will probably be fine. Just make sure you follow any instructions your vet gave you to the letter. If you are still concerned about your pet, even after following the vet's instructions, feel free to call him/her again. Trust me, you won't annoy him. All it will do is let him know how concerned you are about your rabbit. If you are still concerned after contacting the vet again, you may want to consider calling a different vet and getting a second oppinion.

if AFTER you stepped on your rabbit, you took him to the vet and they saw nothing wrong, and he also appears to be acting 'normal' again, eating and drinking and such.....the sound you hear that you say sounds like he is 'choking' is a common sound that rabbits make in their defense. It is kind of their way of 'growling' to let you know they are scared. Your bunny was probably a little shaken up by being stepped on, and keep in mind that they do not know that you did not hurt them on purpose. You just need to earn your bunnies trust back that you are safe,,,,,and i am sure he will stop making that noise.. good luck!! :)

Also, congrats to you for taking your rabbit to the vet. Many people do not think it is important to care for small animals labeled as 'rodents'. Good for YOU and your rabbit.

first of all did you do it quick and fast i mean scaring the rabbit? because i had done the same thing to my rabbit long time ago. i was climbing up on something to get a box up high and i had no idea my rabbit was by my side as i was getting down. so going down i let my self fall done quick and hard accidently stepping hard on my rabbit's neck. i thought i had killed him since he began to cough blood. i was so scared and i felt so bad because i had no intention to doing it. i took him immediatly to the vet, the checked his neck and it seemed it wasnt broken or anything, however for the remaining of the day, i noticed my rabbit wans't reacting, he wasn eating his food, not drinkng water, he was jsut sitting there like as if he was dead, i was so worried, that i called the emergeny vet at 11pm and they said it was better i take him. i took him in (a 1 hour ride from my house to the nearest emergency vet office) they took this temperature and he was way too much over his regualr temp. they told me the rabbit was ok, it was just that he was in shock! the rabbit was in shock! they said that its very hard to cure rabbits from these circmumstances unlike cats and dogs that easily heal after a incident shock occurs, but rabbits were much more delicate animals. they said that it was risky whether he would make it or not. he stayed in the vets for 3 days under IV's and still with his temperature over the limit.

they said that its up to the rabbit to let himself heal emotionally, physically he is fine, its more like of a mental issue. its up to him to survive. on the 4 th day i recieved a call telling me my rabbit came back to normal, his temperaure lowered and he seemed to be eatin a little more than before. i took him in and he was alittle quiet, not moving, but ok. it took aobut a week before he came back to normal.

so my advice is, if your rabbit isnt eating, take him immediatly to the vet, check his temperature and ask the vet if your rabbit is in 'shock'. good luck!

try not step on the poor little thing, however, if it does accidentally occur again, you can use this to your advantage. stew, makes a great meal
