No no and no. An abnormal pap smear does not mean your husband has cheated, it simply means you have abnormal cells present in your cervix. People who have never had sex can have an abnormal pap smear.

No, it doesn't. Many things can cause an abnormal pap, and many abnormal paps turn out to be nothing to worry about. I'm guessing that you are concerned about HPV. However, not all cervical abnormalities are caused by HPV. Also, if he wasn't a virgin before you were married or if you were with someone else before him, you could have gotten HPV earlier and it could have been dormant for a while before showing symptoms. It takes on average 7-12 years for HPV to cause cervical cancer after being infected, and that is only if you are infected with a strain that can cause cancer. Most women with HPV do not get cervical cancer.

So in a nutshell: You probably don't have cervical cancer. You may or may not have HPV. HPV does not usually lead to cervical cancer, although it can in some women. If you do have HPV, you could have gotten it from him or from a previous partner many years ago. This shouldn't be any indication of your husband's faithfulness.

I hope all goes well with that pap. Be sure to follow up with your doctor to make sure everything is ok.

No need to worry. My friend just had an abnormal pap smear, and they said that she had a virus called HPV. Hpv is known to cause a lot of abnormal pap smears and it just means that they have detected some abnormal cells that could lead to cancer, but the best way to stay ahead of it is keep doing your annual exams, and follow up on all abnormal pap smears. The next test that they might do is a colopscopy to look at the cells closer and see what is going on.

No, that is not what it means. It might mean you have pre-cancerous cells, but not to worry. I had like 3 abnormal paps, and that was like 15 years ago, and I don't have cancer. And the rest of my paps have been normal. It might be that they just messed up at the labs, or that your body is just off..
Your abnormal pap smear in no way suggests that your husband cheated.

There are lots of reasons why you could have an abnormal pap. The best thing to do is to go to your doctor and check it out, it's probably nothing and has nothing to do with your husband, but don't freak out on your hubby before you know the facts.

well, i wouldn't jump to conclusions as yet. there are many reason to have an abnormal pap smear. i had one years ago and it was the beginning of them telling me i have endometriosis. which is not transmitted sexually. now on the other hand, if you actually know what the abnormality is, and it is a std, i would question the doctor on what the disease is, such as the dormancy. good luck.
p.s. a normal yeast infection can give you an abnormal pap.

Abnormal how? This could be cancer, warts, false positive results, mixed samples at the lab, or something else. This does not have to mean he has been unfaithful to you. If you have known that he has been worth your trust for 11 years, don't give up on him now. Get more info from your OB/GYN and a second test performed to confirm your results.

Talk to your doctor. Sometimes an abnormal pap is a mix up. Have another one done to be sure.

Did you have an abnormal pap? What's the problem? Has he had what before? Please be more specific. God Bless

If you had an abnormal pap, it doesn't mean he cheated on you. They are quite common.
