Marking a fire hydrant is a sign of territorial respect. Each dog that makes its mark is only trying to outdo the other dogs that have visited that hydrant. So the more dog that mark a particular Hydrant the more respect it is showing. So if President Bush were a Fire Hydrant. It would be the most popular visited Hydrant in the USA. Especially for one to show how much respect you have for that Hydrant.

Yes I would pass him by . I would not want my lady dogs to smell my beautiful scent on that stinkbush. Even Tramp would not let Lady near that hydrant!
