if we are so security obsessed why do security guards make so little money?

how secure do you feel looking at these out of shape people and knowing they are the ones responsable for your safety while your there. it makes me not want to go into any public buildings.
go into any governmemt building, court, cityhall and look at the fat slob working behind the desk.

They should make more money. As for how they look and how much they weigh, I don't care as long as they are doing their job.

Security guards make very little money because that have very little qualifications to keep anything secure. Security guards companies use the same facade as car alarms. Be seen and comfort the owner. Neither actually keeps anything secure or protected.

Now all of you who carry arms and are still called security guards, please stop wishing death on me because you dont fall into this category. You actually shouldnt be called security guards. Somehow you all got lumped into the same category as the guy that opens the guard gate at the front of the apartment that I used to live in.

For the rest of you, yes anyone who is not carrying arms, please be honest with yourselves. You're not gonna risk your life for the 8 bucks you made last hour so dont try to convince me that your job is to protect me.

First of all, you must take into consideration how much actual TRAINING the local security guards have received... very little to none..
On the other hand look at the training our military receives.

Don't be cruel. Celebrity guards make decent money. If gov agencies don't train and pay well, we all get what we pay for.
