The CIA has been supporting the war Lords.
The subject of Somalia is a difficult one. Who is to be put in power? Talk about a lawless country.
I suspect the War Lords that have just taken over Mogadishu will gain (gained) the support of the people (as the Taliban did in Afghanistan) on the promise of bringing order(as the Taliban did).
I also suspect that they will turn into an oppressive regime. They all want to turn Somalia into an Islamic State and the U.S. is concerned that it will turn into a safe haven for Al Qaeda members.
I don't know if the U.S. should? It's like six in one hand and half dozen in the other.
Sudan on the other hand is definitely a place I support sending our troops. Uganda as well.

Been there, done that. Give that sh*thole to the warlords and let them kill each other off, then blow hell out of whoever is left. Here's the latest headlines, straight from Bloomberg.com:
U.S. Has Somalia Terrorism Concerns as Islamists Take Mogadishu
June 6 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. government said it is concerned that Somalia will become a haven for terrorists after an Islamist militia said its forces seized control of the capital, Mogadishu, after weeks of fighting.
``We don't want to see Somalia turned into a safe haven for foreign terrorists,'' State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said in Washington yesterday, according to a transcript. ``We do have very real concerns about that.''
We fell into that trap once. Let's not go again.

I am sorry for the fix that they are in but we need to stop being the worlds helper until we fix America first.
It looks as if Katrina happened yesterday down there we need to send our people our money and all our resources down there and up north in Baltimore area to help with there flooding.
This Country sends so much every where Else knowing they will never be paid back BUT when it comes to helping Americans we hold back make loans that have to be paid back.
So sorry we need to think of America First

only if we pull out of Iraq first. with the whole Iran thing looming above us, it makes other military engagements scary. And if we didn't help Darfur what makes anyone think we will help Somalia... except maybe that it would be al quaida we would be fighting there. I think it is ethically necessary for us to help the people of Somalia.

anybody is being court Martialed and sent to detention center right now. Sexual misbehavior, harassment and intercourse crimes are no longer tolerated and anybody is punished. you relatively need to attempt something referred to as "contemporary activities" so which you do no longer make such an absolute fool of your self interior the destiny. no longer a ok-disguised anti-protection rigidity rant which has been suggested.

its so confusing over there right now. How do we know who we will be helping? What if we help a warlord that murders his people and works with terrorists, sounds like we will get our butts burned no matter what we do
