I dont see why either. I mean these illegals pay taxes here too. They shop at our stores and pay bills where they live etc. The only difference is that they dont have a peace of paper that tells them they can be here and lazy and greedy people who want more and more money dont want them to take the jobs. Get to work people then maybe there wont be any jobs left for them to take. to the answer above....When it comes to education.. Mexicans are okay to pick the food you eat but cant get an education?... riiight.

WOW! Where do I begin? You are SO confused! And SO ignorant. That's O.K. You can educate an ignorant person, it's the stupid people that refuse to be educated. First off, the people in this country aren't against immigration. The people of this country are against ILLEGAL immigration. It's a National Security issue. You say in your question that no ILLEGAL immigrants that have been rounded up were found to be terrorist and that is just not the truth. As a matter of fact, just yesterday the federal government arrested an ILLEGAL immigrant that was in possession of maps and pilot gear that they, and apparently the judge that issued the warrant, think he was going to use for terrorist activities. This is just one case. There were several after 9/11. As far as the ILLEGAL immigrants paying taxes and getting nothing in return, If an ILLEGAL immigrant picks up a phone and dials 911 for an emergency, police, fire, or ambulance service is dispatched. That cost money honey, and alot of it! When an ILLEGAL immigrant goes to the hospital in this country and doesn't pay the bill, that cost money. When an ILLEGAL immigrant enrolls a child into the school system that is MY tax money paying to educate that ILLEGAL immigrants child. When an ILLEGAL immigrant contractor goes to a home owner and offers to build a patio deck on the back of their house for "cash" for half the price I can do it for, because he doesn't pay Workman's comp insurance,or un-employment,or insurance for his business,or truck, that cost ME money! Food Stamps, Welfare, SSI, Social Security, all of these things cost the ILLEGAL immigrant nothing and cost ME dearly.
as far as ILLEGAL immigrants doing the jobs Americans won't do ...please allow me to finish that sentance for you. Jobs Americans won't do for $3 an hour! There are plenty of homeless veterans that would be willing to do those jobs if they were paid enough. When's the last time you seen a homeless ILLEGAL immigrant? I'm sorry to say I think you are the one that needs an education! You have the Internet, use it.

You are right. America is definately made up of immigration. But the problem that a lot of people are having these days is that there are people flocking in illegally. And one problem I have is that if you want to live here then you should make an honest attempt at learning English. There is something wrong when an American Citizen from up north travels down South to Florida and has to point on a Mc Donald's menu because the person behind the counter does not speak English. Its not even an anger issue, its a sadness issue. When we as American's travel to a foreign country, aren't we expected to speak their language, or at least have a clue as to what we want to order? Better yet, we need to ask for directions.

I am not against immigration but I think we should give jobs to the homeless Americans. There are a lot of Americans who really need the jobs that the immigrants are taking. We should help our people first. Then they can bring people from other countries to make there lives better.

It is odd to think that Americans are so worried about 'illegal' immigration. We came here as the English, Spanish, or wherever, slaughtered the Indians and anyone else that quietly inhabited this continent and moved in. Now that we are here, we really need to protect our boarders!
On the other side of the coin, since each argument has two, letting anyone just move in would be world chaos. Think of the criminals that would hide here if we freely accepted anyone that wanted to live here. Think of the drugs and crime money that would be hidden here. Think of the crime that would follow all of that money.
I guess since there is no utopia, this is the best that I can ask for. It's just odd where it began and where it is today.

Many people are against ILLEGAL immigration. This is not the same as being opposed to immigration. It means we ought to have some say in who gets to come into our country. When my grandparents immigrated from Europe, through Ellis Island, they had to show that they had some money to meet their immediate needs and a relative who would support them or sponsor who was going to give them a job.

People are not against LEGAL immigration. What we are against and afraid of is ILLEGAL floods of non-americans that come in and possibly might do us harm, or immediately get on food stamps, and special help. That is the easiest way for terrorists to get in right now. At the border.

People think it's hurting the country. They don't realize that their grandparents or great grandparents were also immigrants so they see immigration as a problem insted of the way this great country was created.

Good question! America is said to be "The Great American Melting Pot" so only people that are worried and insecure are against someone comming here to work harder for less money

We should'nt be against it if all Mexicans worked in fields, but their 10 children go to American school, many of them don't pay taxes, and their children, when they grow up take spots in college that normally go to the people who are here legally, then they go to get good jobs that should go to legal people.
